Divining 11: Inspiration Across Psychic Sciences

Numerology - Angel Numbers - Dream Symbols - Astrology - Tarot Cards - Book of Changes

The Number 11 has some serious significance in divination across the board.  Here's the basic similarities among all of them that speak to the 11-Vibe!

In Numerology, there are two number vibrations considered as Master Numbers – the Number 11 and the Number 22.  The Master Numbers are considered high vibrational energy that bring the pinnacle universal & spiritual energies into our physical reality with a wide sphere of influence.  In other words, these Vibes have a huge ripple-effect.  I’ve decided to showcase the Master Number 11 across several methods of divination or fields of Psychic Science in an effort to show continuity and depth in the meanings or messages that you might get.

Sometimes just using an internet search engine to find a meaning or symbol can leave you dizzy and confused.  Of course, you have to trust your own gut-feeling as to what resonates and what doesn’t, but – in the end – I hope you will be able to see with this example that many sources will have different perspectives on the same thing and it’s not about “right or wrong”.  It’s merely about tuning-in to your own self and to sift through the information to find your message.

The Master Number 11 has a high vibration that carries the energy of Enlightenment through Inspiration.  This inspiring energy brings groups & communities together and moves humanitarians, artists, and activists – among others – into their unique space of service to the community.  In terms of Numerology, this Vibe is often challenging to achieve or maintain for any length of time (even if it is in your Numerology Chart) because we often have a lot of other challenges to overcome, lessons to learn, skills to acquire, and self-discovery to engage with that we lose track of it day-to-day.  When this happens, the 11-Vibe can shift to a 2 (two) vibration quite readily – in which we are learning the lessons of and operating in the energies of duality, conflict resolution, balance & harmony, compassion & cooperation.  When we stabilize our 2-Vibe, we can jump back into the 11-Vibe quite readily.  There are way more in-depth applications to the Master Number 11 in life than I’ve summarized, but the point is – feeling that Inspiration and having that flow outward from whatever you’re doing into your circle of influence – your work, your home, your community, your family & friends.

Similar to Numerology, we find what is popularly called “Angel Numbers”.  A quick search yields many results for number messages & symbolism.  The main difference from Numerology is that “Angel Numbers” often refer to number patterning.  It’s not just one specific number but incorporates the synchronicity of the occurrence in your life, as well as the repetition pattern of the number.  Given our Master Number 11, the “Angel Number” is going to look at a pattern of 111 or 1111 – as in a clock, a car tag, a price-tag, a date, a notification, etc.  Repeatedly seeing a number pattern in a relatively regular frequency or short period of time signifies a synchronicity.  In this instance, a passage about (1:11) or (11:11) from an “Angel Number” message might tell you that your Angels or Spirit Guides are offering you support to create something or build something, or to take the action you’ve been pondering.  There is a sense that Inspiration & synchronicities will guide your way as you move forward with a decision or project.  As in the Numerological association, there’s that Inspiration coming in and opportunity for you to flow – following through with something that could have an influence or impact on your sphere of influence.

Likewise, in Western Astrology, the 11th House tends to be the place of our goals & visions, our dreams & aspirations, our sense of purpose or mission, and our group-belonging – that feeling of a circle of friends, a part of the team, in the family, and interconnectedness.  Within this context, we can readily see the inspiration of the Master Number 11 shining in our ability to connect with our vision of ourselves, purpose in life, and those around us who would support us, help us, or work with us in an organized team endeavor – a family homesteading, an organization reaching out or donating, a team creating a sense of belonging or sharing, a workplace recognizing everyone’s efforts.  The 11th House in Western Astrology shows us a lot about who we think we are in the world and how we see our place in it.  There can be a sense of idealism here if certain energies are present, but that idealism can be grounded with inspiration through decisive-action, cooperation, and self-actualization.  These energies may speak more in-depth about similar themes found in the 2-Vibe when the 11-Vibe gets too intense.  On a practical level, this can bring encouragement, clarity, and allow us to open to that flow of inspiration.

Believe it or not, the associations with the Tarot and with Dream Symbolism can come up from a deeper level of consciousness – perhaps the inspiration of within? – and yet influence a relatively specific aspect of everyday life or even spiritual life.  In some Dream Symbolism, the Number 11 dreamt of in various forms tends to point to stressors or influences of contracts & legal matters, according to Zolar’s Encyclopedia & Dictionary of Dreams (Prentice Hall, 1963).  However, given the context of a dream and dream states, this may or may not be applicable since it is so specific.  Yet, it makes a valid point when comparing it to the meanings & interpretations of Major Arcana Key XI I the Tarot.  Key XI is often entitled “Justice”, and is frequently interpreted as a legal matter, court case, or contract negotiation of some kind.  On a very practical, everyday level, this Number 11 speaks to all those contracts & agreements which are covered by our civil law and legal systems in whatever society we reside.  In the Tarot, the Justice card can also point to affiliations with law enforcement, whether people or offices, including branches of government such as legislative & military.  This begins to reflect the “spirit of the law”, in that we feel a Judge will declare conclusions fairly, a soldier will defend & protect justice, a law enforcement officer will serve justly & wisely, etc.

However, Key XI in the Tarot also contains a deeper, more esoteric symbolism & meaning, one that may resonate more closely with the divine inspiration of Master Number 11 – one that actually provides a spiritual & energetic foundational vibration which would uphold more mundane manifestations, such as civil law.  Justice in the Major Arcana points towards the kind of balance and non-judgement that comes out of Universal Natural Law, including the Law of Karma and the Law of Cause & Effect.  The seeds we plant and - of those - the seeds we nurture, will determine the fruits of our labor.  This kind of Justice carries with it the energies of inspiration & influence, vision & purpose, recognition & teamwork, cooperation & conflict resolution, and the ability for one person to gather a small group to have lasting, profound, and/or inspirational impacts on Life.  The Justice card brings all the vibes together to show, “If you pluck the string this way, this is the sound.  You can change the tuning & tension to create harmony or discord.  The result is the vibration you put out.”

In a great sense, this kind of neatly ties up all the meanings and symbols we might find n our live with the Master 11.  One of my favorites, which restates much of what was just tied together in another way, is from the I-Ching, Book of Changes.  In Passage 11, sometimes translated as “Peace”, one version states that there is prosperity in the harmony of “heaven and earth” – which is to say that when duality, like Yang & Yin or heaven/sky & earth, reaches balance there is inspiration, flow, growth, abundance and all things we actually aim to achieve within ourselves, within our families, and within our communities.  But, it is also applicable to the more physical & mundane, when we find that inner peace & flow of inspiration, we prosper in all relationships & contracts & endeavors – which in turn causes those things n our sphere of influence to prosper.  As I do well, my family is taken care of; and they go out to share their gifts with the community, and the community thrives.  The passage also addresses leadership in the sense that a wise leader should harmonize within and flow with the inspiration in order to have the most successful impact within the sphere of influence.

True Inner Peace does lead to prosperity.  It does open us to inspiration & even “enlightenment”, allowing us to flow with all the energies around us and actually be effective in uplifting ourselves & others.  We feel more effective & joyful in our own lives, and we radiate that beauty & harmony out around us.

May the inspiration of the Universe flow through you, raise you up, bring you joyful peace, and shine from you!
Peace & blessings, Cynthia
