I have heard Buddhist monks say, "Keep your eye on your own rice bowl", meaning always reflect within no matter what. It's a profound, simple, and ancient wisdom that can be found in various phrasing throughout the world. The New Moon is an excellent time for inner reflections and contemplations - which, mind you, is vastly different than miring, wallowing, and ruminating until you're isolated, depressed, or anxiety-stricken. It's a disciplined process to gain self-awareness that should be engaged short periods of time daily, r when contemplation of challenges warrants the technique. Let this small dose of wisdom from The Book of Changes (I-Ching) inspire our thoughts toward useful Consciousness development and self-awareness. |
